How is diagonal FOV computed?

For a rectilinear projection, the relationship between horizontal (H), vertical (V), and diagonal (D) fields of view is: tan(D/2)^2 = tan(H/2)^2 + tan(V/2)^2. This lets us solve for any one given the other two.
